A fundraiser in support of The Brain Cancer Group (TBCG).
On Tuesday, 29 April 2025, the Rotary Club of Hunters Hill proudly hosted a heartfelt and highly successful Brain Cancer Fundraiser at the Hunters Hill Club, in support of The Brain Cancer Group. The evening brought together community members, medical experts, and passionate advocates to raise awareness and vital funds for brain cancer research and patient support services. Over $19,000 was raised and donated to The Brain Cancer Group.
Guests were treated to a vibrant evening of connection and generosity, featuring a full canapé menu, live auction of beautiful artworks, surprise entertainment, and raffles – all in the spirit of giving.
The event was made even more memorable by the thoughtful presentations from esteemed guest speakers:
- Gail O’Brien of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, who spoke movingly about her personal experience
- Associate Professor Michael Back, Radiation Oncologist and Director of The Brain Cancer Group, who highlighted the breakthroughs and challenges in current brain cancer treatment and research
In a powerful and emotional moment, the audience was captivated by a surprise appearance from Professor Richard Scolyer, Australian of the Year 2024, who generously shared his personal journey battling brain cancer. His story of courage, innovation, and determination deeply resonated with attendees and served as a poignant reminder of why continued support for organisations like The Brain Cancer Group is so vital.
The Rotary Club of Hunters Hill and The Brain Cancer Group thank all who attended, donated, and contributed their time, resources, and energy to make this event a success.
