Edmundo proudly serves as an Ambassador for The Brain Cancer Group, continuing the legacy of his late husband, Matthew McCarron, who also held this role before losing his life to brain cancer in 2023. Inspired by Matthew’s incredible positivity, strength, and his belief in the power of gratitude to find inner strength, Ed is committed to carrying forward his message of hope and resilience.

Drawing on his own experience as the partner of someone living with a brain cancer diagnosis, Ed is passionate about sharing insights that speak not only to patients but also to the families, friends, and colleagues whose lives are deeply impacted. Together with their son, Elliott, he is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting research so that fewer families have to face the devastating loss of a loved one to brain cancer. Through his ambassadorship, Ed honours Matthew’s life while working toward a future where a cure can be found and every patient and family has the chance for more time.
